We love this dog friendly hotel, excellent facilities swimming pool and gym, dining is perfect with great food and a fantastic range of choices at both breakfast and dinner, the location of this hotel is fantastic with plenty of on site parking, and loads to do in the area. the lounge and bar area are also lovely warm and welcoming, what does make this hotel stand out from others in the area is the staff from the cleaner to the reception, the bar and restaurant staff all excellent and so helpful and friendly this is the 4th year in a row we have been coming and will be coming again next year very happy customers

Breakfast and dinner were on a buffet style "serve yourself" with a very wide selection of items. Staff in the restaurant were very helpful. The bedroom was cosy with good facilities. I soon became accustomed to the long corridors. The link from the main building to the courtyard rooms was decorated with almost floor to ceiling enlargements of photos of the magnificent Cairngorms, including reference to John Muir, the historic naturalist. Truly awe-inspiring. The very large model dinosaurs along the entrance drive made an interesting feature. It's a busy hotel but appears to be very well run.

April 2025 Week before Easter weekend. Great location as we had our bikes with us. Stayed in bunk bed family room with connecting rooms. Activities at the hotel a bit hit or miss for timings. Tuesday… pool opens at 8am, closes at 10.30am (so during breakfast and full tummies), didn’t reopen until 2.30pm! Football pitch closes at 7pm? Even though 3 families all at arrived with footballs. Fun factory £6 per child , £1 for adults … Rooms absolutely boiling hot! Had to leave window open all day, then close at night due to noise of boiler room vents(?) Radiators weren’t even on.

The hotel generally has a warm atmosphere with many restaurants to choose from. Entertainment was also there on Friday at the woodshed bar by Keith Mair from Aviemore. The location is also great as Loch Morlich will provide you with all the rest you need and the cairngorm mountains at only 15 minutes away will give you a challenge in climbing ben macdui. Breakfast was also excellent for only 13,50 pound, providing you with everything you want.

Biggest let down was dining room, dinner was buffet style, but not kept topped up, we arrived, were seated then a bus party arrived, the containers were emptied and waited ages for ŕefills. The little lady chef was running around topping up as quick as she could but too much for one person although she smiled through it. Food containers were not labelled so couldn't tell what was in them until opening lid.
